Having used bicycles as a daily mode of transportation all of their life as part of their upbringing in the Netherlands, the author has a keen interest in bicycling culture and policy, encompassing urban planning, infrastructure, technology, and legal and cultural aspects.
An alumni of the University of Groningen and the Dutch traffic education system, they have lived, cycled, and advocated for cycling in the United States of America for over ten years, and have developed a passion for contributing to the U.S. cycling experience from the Dutch perspective.
